Hello all and may I wish you all health and happiness in 2008.
The Annual Christmas Service on the 2nd December was, as usual a very special meaningful service for everyone who attended. A HUGE Thank you to Fred Coutts and his team of Chaplains for their dedication and hard work in making this service so special.
Emily is looking for someone to take a turn of the Library box as she no longer is able to get along to many meetings. Ideally it would be someone who comes along to the main meetings, there is only one box of books so if anyone is interested in doing this please contact Emily.
Anyone attending the next pregnancy meeting at Sandra's on the 20th February is welcome to take along a basin and towel for a bit of a foot pamper. Sandra has kindly done this for us before and we all found it very relaxing as well as having a fine chat.
Donations
Craigiebuckler Rising Three's group kindly donated £100 to SANDS which was used to provide Moses basket covers for Rubislaw Ward.
Sandra Stephen donated £15 from sales at one of her Body Shop Parties, a very kind gesture.
Julie Jamieson's mum Linda McMillan kindly donated £25 which was her speaker's fee from a church talk.
Naomi and Duncan MacIver donated £100 in memory of their son Michael; they wanted family, friends and colleagues to donate to SANDS instead of sending flowers so the following donations were made also in memory of their son Michael.
Jennifer and Iain MacIver donated £100 in their memory of their grandson Michael, Liz and Joe Browne also donated £100 in memory of their grandson Michael and an aunt and uncle, John and Ann Meers donated £25 in his memory too.
The Next Pregnancy Group
The group will continue to meet monthly, and should you feel you want to go along to these meetings for some support, dates and venues listed further on in this letter.
New Arrivals
Congratulations to Sylvia Taylor from Ellon whose grandson Kyle Joseph Donnachie was born on the 2nd October 2007 and is a brother to the late Innes.
Many Congratulations to Scott Collie and Tracey Trail on the birth of their daughter Nicole Louise Collie who was born on the 25th November 2007 weighing 8lbs 5 ĵozs. Nicole is a little sister to Sophie and the late Beth.
Lesley Davidson and Billy Fyfe had a beautiful baby girl on Tuesday 4th December 2007, Emily weighed in at
6lbs 11ozs and is a little sister to the late Elizabeth, well done on your new arrival.
Also a BIG well done to Phillipa and Sandy Smith on the birth of their baby boy Harrison on 28th December 2007, who weighed in at 9lbs ½ oz and is a little brother to Becca and the late James.
Well done to you all on your new arrivals...
Anniversary Cards
Should you wish to receive a card on the anniversary of your babies death, please send your name and address, along with your babies name and date of passing, to Pamela Styles 16 Ashwood Grove, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
Fundraising
Emily's husband Mark is bravely doing a fundraiser and is looking for sponsorship to walk from the east coast to the west coast of Scotland to raise money for Aberdeen SANDS and the Glasgow cancer centre. The walk will be roughly 200 miles long, will take in 18 Munros, and will take approximately 2 weeks. It will take place in June and accommodation will consist of a bivvy bag! Contact Mark, Emily or Susan to sponsor.
Memory Pockets
Marjory is still doing a great job keeping Rubislaw ward stocked up with Memory Pockets.
